“ Okay, here's the deal. To the vast majority of locals, Hi-Way Pizza is awesome. It brings back great memories, the smell makes our mouths water, and the taste just those you back to high school parties. That said, I have yet to find someone who didn't grow up with it who likes it. The pizza is simple. Rectangle cuts of pizza on a soft yeasty crust, tons of cheese and one pepperoni slice on each cut. This has been what has kept them in business for 40 years. You can buy individual cups of canned mushrooms and hot peppers for .90 cents apiece. In recent years, they have expanded their menu to include wings, strombolis, subs and cheesesteaks, but their original pizza is what most people crave. Why 4 stars instead of 5? They don't take Credit or Debit cards. Typically I do not patronize business that don't. This is the one exception, AND they actually have a sign that says "Stop! We do not accept Credit/Debit cards" right on the front door. The wait. When they are busy, you can wait 45 minutes or so to get your pizza. They make everything from scratch, so once again this is easily overlooked. The service. The owner is a wonderful polite man. He is just the nicest person you could ask for. The lady who's been there for years, not as much. She is always cranky irritable and downright rude at times. I understand that yes, it is hot there, but everyone else is nice, she can be too. To sum up. Great for locals who grew up with it, chancy for imports or people new to the area. ”
